A. The health of our residents is of prime importance to us at Foundation House at Northgate. Our professional meal planning ensures a balanced diet, with the ability to accommodate some special needs. Our trained staff also conducts a daily exercise class which is open and free to all residents. And with a long list of events and activities, you'll have plenty of opportunity to stay active.

Q. My independence is important to me. Does Foundation House at Northgate allow me to come and go as I please?
A. Absolutely! Foundation House at Northgate is exactly that – a retirement community for independent living. All residents have 24-hour access and are encouraged to enjoy their freedom. Have a terrific time!

A. We're in the middle of a peaceful residential neighborhood, with police and fire facilities only blocks away. Our buildings are secured after hours, open to residents by keyed entry. And we have staff on hand 24 hours a day should any special needs arise.

back to top Q. Are the residents at Foundation House friendly?
A. You bet! Some of our residents have known each other since childhood, but most are new friends. With a great mix of events and activities, you'll meet your neighbors, fit right in and and feel at home in no time.
back to top Q. Does Foundation House accept Medicare or Medicaid payments?
A. Medicare is a health insurance program for people age 65 or older, or people under age 65 with certain disabilities. It does not cover retirement living expenses such as housing or meals. Medicaid is a health coverage program for low-income individuals and families. Again, it does not cover the cost of daily living expenses. A. Depending on the nature of your insurance, some expenses, such as for our assisted-living facility, may be covered under your policy. You will need to consult with your insurance company. We would be happy to discuss your needs with your agent and to help you in any way we can.
back to top Q. Foundation House at Northgate offers "Assisted Care", but what is the difference between Assisted Care and a nursing home?
A. Our Assisted Care residents require minimal medical care, sometimes recuperating from an illness or injury, sometimes just in need of minor assistance with daily tasks. A nursing home or nursing care facility may care for elders in need of more continuous monitoring or longer-term care. For serious illnesses, hospice or Alzheimer's care, we can recommend other facilities. While we do have a limited Assisted Personal Care Center, Foundation House at Northgate is mostly a retirement community for independent seniors.
