  • 1911 – Seattle teachers form a “mutual aid society” to help colleagues deal with extended illness
  • 1928 – mutual aid society efforts expanded to provide “living quarters for retired & convalescent teachers”
  • 1930’s thru 1970’s – Seattle-area retirement facilities created in Queen Anne, Ravenna, & Broadview neighborhoods
  • 1997 – Foundation House at Northgate opened
