- 1911 – Seattle teachers form a “mutual aid society” to help colleagues deal with extended illness
- 1928 – mutual aid society efforts expanded to provide “living quarters for retired & convalescent teachers”
- 1930’s thru 1970’s – Seattle-area retirement facilities created in Queen Anne, Ravenna, & Broadview neighborhoods
- 1997 – Foundation House at Northgate opened
